Topic: Babyface Protools 9 sudden distortion

Hi Everyone,

Im running Protools 9.0.6 with babyface(latest driver) with  on macbook pro 10.6.8. The problem is when im recording into Protools the recording suddenly starts getting distorted. It sounds like a bit crusher with delay effect. Then i change the buffer size and it goes away and after recording 15-20 second it comes back again no matter what the buffer size is (32 to 1024) It doesnt happen all the time. All of my drivers are up to date, I tried both usb inputs on the mac. What could be the problem?

Does this only occur with PT?

I only use Protools so i dont have a chance to try it in other Daw's. Currently im running 9.0.6 but i was having the same problem on 9.0.5 too.

Of course you have a chance... You could simply try e.g. Reaper for a test.
It's not about which software you use for productive purposes...

Hi Daniel,

I did test it out for about 15 min with Reaper and it did not happen. What could be the issue with Protools?
