Topic: RME Babyface and RME HDSP 9632 on the same PC ?

Hi,

I use a HDSP 9632 to which I have connected my home studio : monitors, preamps, etc.
I'm thinking in buying a Babyface as a mobile recording device.
Is there any risk of conflict between those two cards if I plug the babyface in my desktop PC running the HDSP 9632?
Will I be able to record using the Babyface and monitor through the HDSP 9632 ?
What is the best way to connect these two cards on the same computer ? USB or SPDIF ?

I use a PC running W7 64 bits, I7 920, 8go RAM, two nvidia graphics card, D-link wifi USB adaptor, Cubase and Protools.

Thanks.

No risk, no conflict - but different ASIO drivers, so both can't be used together in DAW software.
You could use the BF as (additional) ADDA converter if connected by SPDIF. But it will still need to be connected by USB, otherwise it won't work.

Thank you for the fast reply.

So I will be able to connect the babyface via SPDIF, and plugging the USB, but still using the HDSP 9632 as my main audio card in Cubase/Pro Tools, but I will be able to use the babyface as an external preamp/converter? Is that correct ?
