Topic: PCI card + external converters question

Hello,
I would like to know if I can do a setup like this:

I would like to buy RME PCI card (internal or external), then, adding:
-stereo adc (eg: lavry black )
-stereo dac (eg: mytek)
-one single channel headphone dac/amp (eg: ibasso D7).

Can I hook up all those converters to a RME PCI card?
Do I need to buy an external clock word unit also?

Thank you for the inputs

Re: PCI card + external converters question

HI,
If your talking about the RME HDSP PCI card then no. It requires either the Multiface I/O box or the Digiface I/O box.
You then hook the external AD/DA to this device.
The best choice for what you want to do would be the HDSP 9632 PCI card or the HDSP AIO PCI-e card.

If you want something that will work well on both a desktop and laptop that has the connectivity you need then any of the Fireface series will work for you.

You will probably find that you don't really need these external converters and headphone DAC with the Fireface series.

Thanks Chris

Re: PCI card + external converters question

Edit: Could you please explain me the difference between the TCO module connection  direct vs indirect?

I have two option to buy. RME AIO or RME 9632. Which one could you suggest me to hookin up the TCO module with?

Thank you

Re: PCI card + external converters question

The TCO does not work with the HDSP 9632. Why you need that one?
