Topic: rme hdspe aio pci express very low recording volume problem

hello friends.
I upgrade my hardware to an rme aio. I use the mic amplifier avalon vt 737 and a condencer neumann mic. Since i installed the new soundcard the signal that i record  with the mic is too low..  With the previous soundcard i had never a problem like this. I have not changed also the mic amplifiers adjustments when i installed the new soundcard. They are still the same. I use the  rme balanced xlr breakout cable. Please note that in the hdsp mixer the input signal is in 0 db and in the hammerfall dsp settings the input level is in the option low gain.. the recording quality is outstanding so i do not want to change these settings. My only problem is the very low recording volume.
Do you have any ideas how to solve this problem and increase the volume???

Thank you in advance

If you see a good level in the mixer, then this is what goes to your software. What program are you using?

Re: rme hdspe aio pci express very low recording volume problem

Hi,

I have this same problem. Levels in mixer looks good but what recorded waves on a track are very low. I'm using Logic Pro and UA 4-710 adat as a preamp. This is not that bad wit condenser microphone but now I just switched to Shure sm 7B and can't get a good results.

Big thanks for all your help.

Re: rme hdspe aio pci express very low recording volume problem

Hi,

I also have the same problem- Fireface 800 , optical in to AIO, Logic 9.
The HDSP mixer shows good level going into input 7. When selecting input 7 as an external input in logic, the level is about 6DBs lower. Can you help?

Check Logic settings, I believe there is some setting for "recording level"... As stated above, the HDSP mixer/driver passes the signal on absolutely unaltered.
