Topic: Replacing Multiface is Fireface UC or Fireface UFX the option ?

Hello,

I have and Old Audiolink 96 Multiset ( Same as Multiface ) and then a Octamic 2.  Multiface is now going on " pension".

What would be the best replacement ? .  I was looking at Baby face, Fireface UC as I dont want to have a PCIe card in my computer to get the setup working.

I was also thinking of upgrading my setup with the RME FIREFACE UFX and then connect this to my computer with USB and then to Octamic 2 via the ADAT.   And then I would use the UFX for the most important recordings with best quality and the Octamic 2 for less important stuff ?

What do you recomend  ?

I continued with my setup since my post, but I would like to do the change now.

What do you recomend ? .  Is there any quality difference in the converters etc.  And both Fireface UC and UFX works woith my octamic 2. 

Should I upgrade to Fireface 800 instead ? .  Or is the converter quality better in the new units ?

I think I go with the Fireface UCX  :-)   Seems it will be perfect for the Octamic 2 and my setup. 


So oneone answered my questions but I just had to think myself :-)

UFX has better specs and more features, but you really can't go wrong. :-)
