Topic: BABYFACE and ASUS P8P67-M PRO not playing nice

I was a Fireface 400 owner, I am a current ADI-8 DS owner and a new Babyface owner. I've never experienced a problem with any RME hardware until now. My Babyface cuts out every once in a while for less than a second while using it with my ASUS P8P67-M Pro based i7 desktop. I have it maxed out with Corsair RAM and had now problems using it with my M-Audio Lightbridge. It seems to cut out more when I'm using the mouse in the DAW enviornment, it's a USB mouse. Had anyone experienced this, and if so, do you have a solution.

By the way, the Babyface runs perfectly on my i7 PC laptop, no dropouts. ....and I tried switching USB cables.

The BF manual includes a chapter on how to troubleshoot your USB ports and their internal connections.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Re: BABYFACE and ASUS P8P67-M PRO not playing nice

So it turns out that all of the external USB ports on the MOBO run on the same controller except the USB 3.0 ports. The USB 3.0 port blue-screens my computer if I plug the Babyface in to it. I will call ASUS tomorrow to see if any of the 6 internal USB ports run off of the second controller. If none of them do, is there a PCIE USB 2.0 controller that people have had good results with? ...or do I need to look into a new MOBO.

Re: BABYFACE and ASUS P8P67-M PRO not playing nice

So I talked to ASUS today and the have informed me that ALL USB ports run off of the same controller, including the internal one. A PCIe USB 2.0 controller seems to be my last option. Are there ANY that could be recommended?

Thanks
