Topic: Can I build a PC, which is as good as my CD player?

Hello all RME users,

And if so which card is the best?

I own a Meridian G06 CD player, but very much like the ease of use of a media player. I have the option of connecting my PC to my Meridian G61R digital Sound Controller, which upsamples and apodizes. it would also use the internal DACs.

Meridian did at one stage used a RME card (9632) in their Source One. However, their Sooloos Control 15 is a massive £4700, so building my own is the only option

I realize this may be a hard question to answer, but I am sure someone here must have built the best sounding PC
