Topic: FF 400 hangs off + loud sine signal after 5-15 min

I actually go crazy!

In the last years i´ve used my FF400 with my Laptop through a PCMCIA Card, works all fine. Now, after switching to my Desktop PC the FF400 hangs all the time after some minutes, the RED LED lits up and i got a really loud sine Signal through my Monitors, terrible!

I´m using WinXP Pro SP2 / Sitecom PCI Firewire Card / FF400 Firmware: 1.70 Driver: 2.9992 /

I´ve read something on the Forum about changing the "OHCI-konformer 1394-Hostcontroller" to "OHCI-konformer 1394-Hostcontroller (legacy)" but it don´t show me the "OHCI-konformer 1394-Hostcontroller (legacy)" one to update. Can i get the Driver somewhere on the Net? Could it be my Solution?

Hope somebody can help me!

Thanks

Olli

That "Legacy" driver is available in Win 7, not XP. Most likely you just need a better FW400 card. Try to get one with the Texas Instruments chipset. Looks like your Sitecom card uses the Via chip.

Oh, Via chip is not good. It´s the chipset it use. So i go to get another card...
