Topic: TotalMIX Classic MIDI Implementation

Hi RME!

Like so many others i am working on a control-surface for the TotalMIX Mixer for my RayDAT (on the IPad Lemur).

I'm keen on using a simple midi-implementation (7bit resolution of CC is enough for me), but the current 2 options seems limited in each their own way.

The Mackie Control implementation involves banking, and will not update faders outside of the current bank, while the simple cc-implementation isn't bi-directional.

The current development with the implementation of OSC in TotalMIX FX seems very interesting, but i heaven't seen any indication that this will be ported to TotalMIX "Classic", despite this platform powers the professional range of cards (RayDAT, MADI, AES, ect) - maybe i've overlooked this. Any comments?

Alternatively, could you implement bi-directional support for the simple midi-implementation? Perhaps as an "alternative" midi mode? I'm talking something dirt simple like:

CH01: CC-00 > ?? - Input Volume Fader
CH02: CC-00 > ?? - Input Channel Pan
CH03: CC-00 > ?? - Input Mute State ( 00 / ff)
CH04: CC-00 > ?? - Input Solo State ( 00 / ff)
CH05: CC-00 > ?? - Playback Volume Fader
CH06: CC-00 > ?? - Playback Channel Pan
CH07: CC-00 > ?? - Playback Mute State ( 00 / ff)
CH08: CC-00 > ?? - Playback Solo State ( 00 / ff)
CH09: CC-00 > ?? - Output Volume
CH09: PC 00 - ?? - Submix Selection (triggers transmission of complete mixer-state)
CH10: CC-00 > ?? - Various buttons, presets, ect (00 / ff)
CH16: NoteOn(00) - Transmit complete mixer state.

.. or something similar. That would be effective and very simple to implement (for end users smile.
