Topic: RME - Logic 9 (express) input levels

just got my multiface II back after lending it to a friend and can't seem to figure out low input levels in logic express (9.1.1)

all is connected and seemingly working fine. HDSPMixer software shows full levels (up to 0) when I play my bass, for example.

then, in Logic, only a measly -18dB, even when I pick hard. when I slap the bass strings, it redlines but "regular" playing is hardly audible.

wondering if I'm missing a setting or something. when I plug into my mac's line-in, the levels are just fine.

any insights appreciated.

Re: RME - Logic 9 (express) input levels

If the levels in Logic are below what the HDSP mixer is showing you, there must be some digital attenuation in sotware. I'm not sure where, but I believe Logic does have some such setting, although it would seem to make little sense...

Re: RME - Logic 9 (express) input levels

thanks daniel.

just to be clear: when I plug in directly to line-in, the levels in logic are fine.
and I've spend HOURS looking through seemingly all settings in logic but can't find anything that would allow me to raise those levels coming in from the multiface.

just wondering if there's anyone who experienced something similar.
