Topic: Problem with Hdsp Rpm Ubuntu 11.04 64 bits

Hi, i'm trying to make this card work with Ubuntu 11.04 64 bits.I't seems the card loads something,i don't know if it loads the firmware, the red light turns off and when i try to run hdsploader and this is the output:

Looking for HDSP + Multiface or Digiface cards :
Card 0 : RME Hammerfall DSP + RPM at 0xd4000000, irq 16
Upload firmware for card hw:0
Unknown iobox or firmware revision

I placed the rpm_firmware.bin in lib/firmware.Oh, and i forgot it! i run the card through a pci cardbus adapter that run fine in windows 7.Thanks for your help.

There is a packaging bug in ubuntu 11.04. The package alsa-tools-gui (which you need - that's the one with the hdspmixer and hdspconf).
But have a look at this bug-report (and add yourself as affected) https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … bug/723276
I describe a workaround in commentary #14 and #15.
I guess you know that you also have to install alsa-firmware-loaders and either manually load hdsploader (as you mention) or write a little startup-script to have it done automatically.

In fact, the good firmware is the latest 154.
Extension AO4S) can prevent HDSPMIXER from loading.

Good alsa-tools-gui is the 1.0.25-1 ( http://packages.debian.org/sid/i386/als … /download).
Install with DPKG : sudo dpkg -i alsa-tools-gui_1.0.25-1_i386.deb
