Topic: quick clock question

Suppose I have a separate ADDA converter providing some extra channels for a UC, and connected to the UC by ADAT. The converter will be the master clock. I also want to connect an external FX processor to the UC with AES/SPDIF (it can do either). The FX unit has no word clock terminal.

Can the FX unit get the clock information it needs to stay properly in sync even when the UC is set to slave?

Yes. The FX unit gets the clock via the digital connection from the UC. The FX unit has to work as clock slave.
