Topic: Monitoring compressed track in Logic (Babyface)

Hi. Using my Babyface, I'm sending a pre-recorded track out to a hardware compressor, and then back in to Logic. This is working OK, but my problem is that I'm hearing both the original track AND the compressed audio. As a result, it's difficult to hear exactly what the compressor is doing because that signal is being masked by the original track. How can I set up TotalMix so that I'm only hearing the new, compressed signal, and am therefore able to monitor it properly and make accurate decisions about it before I record? Thank you.

Re: Monitoring compressed track in Logic (Babyface)

The routing depends on the output with the signal to the compressor and the input with the compressed signal. Click your monitoring output (probably output 3/4 - phones) and set the fader of the input channel with the compressed signal to 0 dB (probably analog in 1/2) and the fader with the playback from Logic (2nd row, probably output 1/2) all the way down.

best regards
Knut
