Topic: PT9 won't play with 1024 buffer size on UFX

Did a search and didn't come up with anything. Point me to a link if someone else had this question. Basically the play and stop buttons light up or flash after hitting play when I'm using 1024 buffer size. All other PT compatible buffer sizes work fine, but I am limited to 512 at the moment and my CPU is getting too high during mixing/mastering.

*bump*. Still haven't found anything. I am going to update firmware, see if that helps.

I've had the same issues with trying to use both a Babyface and a Fireface 400 in PT9 with ASIO buffers larger than 512. I've experienced it with two different Windows 7 computers.

I posted about it here and also emailed RME support. Am currently waiting to hear back from them.

Thanks for the reply, I am also using win7. I still haven't updated drivers or firmware, but hoping it will help.

Can't really try to reproduce this at the moment, as my PT9 license has expired. Waiting to have it renewed...

Mr. Fuchs: Caution! Avoid the PT 10 upgrade or at least retain a seperate PT9 license. My PT 10 (after the latest update) remains unreliable with my two UFX and 2011 Sandy Bridge MacBook Pro.

Try unchecking the "minimize additional I/O latency" box in the Pro Tools Playback Engine panel. That has fixed the issue for me.
