Topic: TotalMixFX Routing Bug

So while spending more time testing the new TotalMix FX and the new 1.49 Firmware for the UFX, I found a bug in the routing section. Sometimes a submix is silent although it has some active routing! That means that when i select a submix, I see a software playback signal on the second row and its fader shows signal, but still no signal at the output. Once I move that submix hardware output fader, the signal suddenly comes alive loud! (Almost damaged my ears once because of that). As usual, I have made a video with captions descriping the problem. Please make sure that you enable the captions on Youtube if you have them disabled.

Thank you,
Michael.

Re: TotalMixFX Routing Bug

Hi Michael,

first of all: if this is reproducable please store the workspace. Also check on the Matrix side if the routing that does not work is also shown as activated crosspoint. Usually something like this points to a corrupted workspace. So it might vanish when you do a complete TM reset and build up the mix again.

Also feel free to send me the workspace (if it is reproducable), then we can have a look at that.

Re: TotalMixFX Routing Bug

Hi Matthias,

Thanks for the suggestion, but i've never checked the matrix when it happened. This happens so randomly during recording sessions and is hardly reproducible. but I'll save the workspace if it will ever happen again. I also did a total reset and I'll see if that helps. I'll keep you updated.

Re: TotalMixFX Routing Bug

Ok, we can reproduce this. Seems to happen only at 96 kHz. Trying to fix it now.

Re: TotalMixFX Routing Bug

Cool, I've had this happen too. Latest firmware and Totalmix FX RC on Windows 7. I use it mostly at 96 KHz. This problem usually shows up when booting up the computer. I have to push up a fader to get sound working.

Maybe unrelated, but I also had a strange bug where some routing seems to have been messed up when I did live sound this saturday (48 KHz, all ADAT channels in use). I used a MacBook Pro running OSX10.6 with the latest RC Totalmix. I believe something happened when accidentally pressing Talkback button (it was activated but I don't know if it was the culprit) using an Ipad and TouchOSC. Some channels seemed to get phase messed up and a lot of tracks fed back in the FOH (Main 1-2) speakers, even though very low in level. Loading a backup totalmix config solved the issue. Gotta see if I can reproduce it somehow.

Re: TotalMixFX Routing Bug

The new dsp firmware 151 has the fixes of 150 plus fixes the above effect. When the UFX started at 96 kHz, the mixer was not initialized. Windows only today:
