Topic: UCX's great, but the sound is fatiguing for me

HI, I have switched from MOTU UltraLite-mk3 Hybrid to UCX.
The resolution and clarity of sound are better.
The driver stability is better with my Mac.
The clarity of Mic Preamp is better.
The function of AutoSet works great.
However, the sound is fatiguing for me when I listen to music through UCX.

Could someone give me advise for this?

This is highly subjective, so hard to make a general statement....
The UCX does not colour the sound and will essentially just sound the way your music does...

Yes, this is subjective, but now I am not moved by my favourite tracks with UCX. I hope time will solve this...

Though its an odd thing to post about, I know what you're saying.  I personally don't enjoy  the edgy, thin tone of music that is accurately reproduced through a great DAC and studio monitors.  I need that clarity for work, but for recreational listening, I like some softening of the tone. Try an outboard, line level tube preamp.  It should color the sound a bit and make music more... well, "musical".

Thank you very much for your understanding BOWIE. Your statement is exactly what I mean. Yes, great for work, but not so good for recreational listening.
OK, currently I don't know the way to insert an outboard tube preamp before speakers. I will do a search about it.
