Topic: Fireface UCX and 5.1 Monitoring?

Hello everybody,

I am thinking about buying a Fireface UCX for an AV monitoring solution and would like to see it working as a monitoring controller.
i.e. using the mixer for bass management and channel control and also using the main button (or the remote) for controlling the overall level of all the output 6 channels at once.
Unfortunately I don't have access to a UCX for thorough testing purposes. Could this work, or should I use a further piece of equipment (so more costs) to handle the 5.1 management?

Hi Simon,
You can use the Total Mix FX's fader groups to link the Main out and other channels used for surround so they are controlled by the one knob.
I'm not sure if the EQ has the correct options to do proper bass management. That would probably have to be handled in your playback software.

I will be going ahead with this enterprise in the mid of june. If I don't forget I will be back with my experience.
