i was reading some stuff in the manual about using modes where it requires less resources.

sorry im using a mac mini and garageband
i upgraded the ram to 4gb

Limit Bandwidth on the bottom left of the Fireface Settings page.

If you're not using SPDIF or ADAT, set it to Analog.
