Topic: Problem: Fireface UC gets disconnected often

Hey my RME Frieds,

for one or two weeks i have a problem with my Fireface UC.
It gets disconnected sporadic (sometimes there are just a few minutes, sometimes a few hours until it happens again) and sometimes reconnects a few moments later again. In between there is a loud cracking noise.

After the disconnect Totalmix shows "disconnected", but the Fireface still works (e.g. Plays my iTunes Music).

I got the latest Driver and Firmware and i am using a 2011 Mac mini with 10.7 Lion.

Hope you can help me and it is just a software problem.
Could it help to reinstall all the software?

Are you providing power for your Fireface UC using the external power supply?

I am using the original external Power supply.
Do you think another usb-cable could help?

Hi Daniel,

It is easy enough to try another USB cable. Also, test your UC on a different computer to see if you can reproduce this issue. Have you downloaded all the latest Lion Updates?

Since in changed the usb cable yesterday, there were no dropouts.
Had a recording session today and everything worked fine, so let's hope the best smile
