Topic: Triggering Snapshots via MIDI - UFX
I'm trying to control TotalMix via Ableton Live, and have come across some issues.
What I'm trying to do is send messages to trigger different snapshots, thus allowing me to have a wet and dry mix for talking in between Ableton sessions. I am sending messages out of MIDI port 1, and looping it back through MIDI port 2 at the front of my Fireface UFX unit.
I have connectivity: I can control the faders as follows:
Hardware Inputs
Fader 1: Midi Channel 1, Envelope 110
Fader 2: Midi Channel 1, Envelope 111
Fader 3: Midi Channel 1, Envelope 112
Fader 4: Midi Channel 1, Envelope 113
Software Playback
Fader 1: Midi Channel 5, Envelope 103
Fader 2: Midi Channel 5, Envelope 104
Fader 3: Midi Channel 5, Envelope 107
Fader 4: Midi Channel 5, Envelope 109
Fader 5: Midi Channel 5, Envelope 111
Fader 6: Midi Channel 5, Envelope 113
Fader 7: Midi Channel 5, Envelope 114
Fader 8: Midi Channel 5, Envelope 116
Fader 9: Midi Channel 6, Envelope 104
Fader 10: Midi Channel 6, Envelope 103
Yep, it's all fairly random and unpredictable from what I can tell, but I thought I'd share because it took me ages to figure out and get working.
BUT, I can't seem to use any of the note commands (F#3, G etc) to trigger the snapshots. Has anyone else worked out how to do this? I'm desperate to get something working for my live show, and everyone I've spoken to that works for Ableton or RME seems to think it should be easy.
Help?
