I recently bought one of the new Dell XPS 850 desktops for music prodction. It was a direct upgrade on the machine I'd been using before. It has an Intel Core i7, runs Windows 7, has 12GB of memory and has both a 2TB hard drive and a 256GB SSD. I'd been using the Hammerfall DSP Multiface II on my previous machine with Cakewalk Sonar and Native Instruments, and had met with few problems for a number of years.

I had a little difficulty installing the driver for the sound card on my new machine but eventually managed to do it successfully after trying a different PCI slot. However I've been completely unable to update the firmware. This is the one I've been attempting to use: https://archiv.rme-audio.de/download/fut_wdm_dspe.zip
Initially it was loading for about 15 seconds and then failing. Now it freezes upon hitting the "update" button and gives the "not responding" dialog if I try anything else.

Any suggestions as to what's going wrong? I've included a photo of the sound card in case that may help at all.
