Topic: Level on output channel is different than real level (Fireface UC)

Hello,

I found a problem that initially I thought was due to a jerky rotary knob (and tried reporting as such without feedback), but now I'm starting to think it could be a different thing.

Sometimes, I see on both totalmix and the fireface UC display a value for headphone output which is not the real one: indeed, just touching the knob makes it jump to a displayed value matching the level.

For example, after turning on everything today, the reported output level for analog out 7/8 was -40dB, but I noticed it was definitely louder than that.
Indeed, moving the totalmix fader far from -40DB and then back the level was much softer, just what I expected for -40dB.

I seldom tweak Totalmix settings, the only things I usually touch are the mono button and the "Assign" menu to switch main out back and forth between Analog 1/2 and 7/8.

I'm using Windows 7 Professional sp1 x64, fireface firmware version 115, driver version 1.0.19.0.

Any clue about what's going on?

Thanks,
    Mario
