Topic: Distortion signal on AN1/AN2 when connection device to the midi input

Hi,

I have a problem with the Babyface;
If i connect a midi device (e.g. foot controller) to the "midi in" of the babyface, there seems to be a distortion signal on AN1/AN2 (no mics connected to the AN1/AN2)

If i disconnect the midi cabel, the distortion signal disappears.
Never had this problem before.

Can you help me out?

Regards,

Freek

p.s. i updated drivers, totalmix, etc.

Re: Distortion signal on AN1/AN2 when connection device to the midi input

What do you mean?
If i remove the connector that connect all cables with the babyface--> there is no distortion signal anymore (ofcourse)
I tried another midi cable, but the problem still exist.
As soon as i disconnect the midi cable, the distortion disappears...
It only applies to the midi-in connection. Midi-out works fine.
Any clue to solve this problem? (maybe midi-in connector failure?)

thx
p.s. check here for the amount of distorion i am talking about

Extension cable, not breakout cable. Remove it and connect directly. BTW, what gain is currently active for the mic inputs?

Re: Distortion signal on AN1/AN2 when connection device to the midi input

oh, i understand what you mean, i removed the extension cable and the distortion signal disappeared!
the gain for mic inputs was 30, you can see it in the link i attached.
So the extension cable went broke! how can i obtain a new one?
