Topic: FF UFX Hardware Issue...

Hi,

I just bought a brand new UFX back at the beginning of March.  It's been an awesome addition to my studio until just a couple of days ago.

I was working on my computer and got up for about ten minutes to do something else.  When I came back, I noticed to red meters just screaming at me from the front panel LCD.

I opened up TotalMix to see what I could see.  There is a constant noise coming thought both channels.  There is not and has never been anything plugged into those inputs.  When I cue them up to headphones or my mains, I get this almost white noise sound but with high level pops and clicks.

I've called about repairs already.  Apparently RME uses a company called Synthax to handled claims and repairs... and they want me to pay shipping sad  I thought RME was known for taking care of its customers, but I feel like I'm getting screwed here...

Anybody have any advice?

Synthax is the official RME distributor in the US. If you purchased the unit from a local retailer, you can also visit them and ask them to return it to Synthax.
