Topic: HSDPe AIO driver install = Blue Screen in Win7

I read and followed the instructions in the "Installation of RME Audio Interfaces under Windows 7" sticky...

http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=7348

The card is detected, driver installs fine, but Win7 goes blue screen on reboot after the driver install.

What should I try next?

Info that might be relevant...

-The HDSPe AIO is installed in the second of 2 PCIe slots on an Asus P8Z68-V Pro (GEN3)
-A UAD2 card is installed the the first PCIe slot
-There is also an RME HDSP 9632 PCI card in one of the lower PCI slots

THANKS!

You could try to change your Windows Firewire driver to the "(legacy)" one via Device-Manager.

Re: HSDPe AIO driver install = Blue Screen in Win7

Thanks for the suggestion Timur.

I swapped the HSDPe AIO into the first PCIe slot and it came to life.  Existing drivers picked it up.  Now the UAD2 card won't work in slot #2.  Maybe an IRQ issue with that slot.

I bought the AIO to replace my 9632 PCI card, assuming I'd get a bit of extra ASIO performance (because I found out the PCI slot on my board is bridged, not native).

Surprise, surprise, after much testing, I see little to no ASIO perf. improvement with the new HSDPe AIO card.  I had assumed the Asus PCI-to-PCIe bridge chip was eating up ASIO.  I guess I was wrong.  Bridge seems to work very well.

Anybody want to buy a slightly used HDSPe AIO?  :-D
