Dear all!

I am a bit confused about which input I should use if I want to plug my guitar directly into the UCX. I have chosen analogue input 3. In Total Mix I set input 3 to "instrument" and chose "Lo-gain". What confuses is that I get some very nasty background "hiss" or "hum". When I look into the users' manual it says there that the input jack is "stereo" - to my ears there's something wrong with the ground connection. Also, when I touch the metal case of the UCX with my bare hands, the "noise / hiss / hum" disappears. Can anyone who also plugs the guitar directly into UCX help me with the proper way to do this?
