Topic: loud pop on startup

I have an hdsp system (pci + multiface)
The multiface is powered through the firewire cable.
Is there anyway to prevent this loud popping sound when turning on my computer or do I have to turn off the speakers everytime I turn on my computer?

without any other volume control between the interface and the speakers, you should turn on the speakers after the computer, yes.

It helps to set the analog outputs to -10 dBV on the Fireface, so if that's possible on the Multiface it could reduce the pop considerably. This should be implemented via Firmware if you ask me (switching automatically when powering up and when shutting down via Windows/Mac OS shutdown.
