Topic: stuttering playback. Live 8.2.7, MacBook Pro
Working TV in the US doing what we call ATPB in TV production.
Basically playing back bumps, VOs and performance stems.
Using Live 8.2.7 and Fireface 800 and 10.6.8.
I connect 2 MacBook Pro systems together via OSX AudioMidi and
ethernet. The 2 systems are "fired" from one Novation LaunchPad (up
to date driver).
The system has worked fine the last 2 gigs I did. And for the first week of this show, last week.
Today I suddenly had an issue with stalling playback, for lack of a
better description.
The primary system, on the FF800 stuttered.
I checked to see that there was a Firmware update to 3.08. I had been on 3.06.
I have updated, see what tmrw brings.
First question is, should I see the coreMidi.framework as an open app
with the FF800?
I have taken the precaution of removing any other midi drivers from
~/Lib/Aud/Midi Drivers.
The back up is on a MotU Traveler; coreMidi.framework isn't "visible"
as an open app on that system.
Do you think it may be a driver issue that should be resolved with
3.08 installed?
I have repaired permissions post the update.
