Topic: Multiface I + Cardbus combination

hi folks!

I would like to know if it's possible to use the old cardbus (pcmcia) with an expresscard-slot through an adapter
is here someone who made a similar experience?

I have an option to renew my laptop for a sony vaio but there exists only an expresscard-slot
so would it be ok if I only buy an adapter?

old combination (which works fine):

* Multiface I
* PCMCIA (cardbus)
* Acer Laptop
* Win XP, 32bit
* Cubase 4

new combination:

* Multiface I
* PCMCIA with an expresscard-adapter
* Sony Vaio (only 1 exc-slot)
* Win 7, 64bit
* Cubase 6

for example:

the PCMCIA is based on 32bit, do the expresscard have the same bits?would it to run properly without any 're-counting' problems on win7 64bit through a MF I?

thanks a lot

best regards
Mike

Re: Multiface I + Cardbus combination

We do not specifically test such adapters - it may or may not work. The RME HDSPe Expresscard is the recommended solution here...

Re: Multiface I + Cardbus combination

if such an adapter would work for the cardbus 32bit, could there be a conflict because of Win7 64bit?

thanks

Re: Multiface I + Cardbus combination

No, PCI is also 32 bit. If it works it will behave as a 32 bit pci card.

I will try it, otherwise I'll get an expresscard
