Topic: installing new firmware

I am switching from a windows-based PC for my FF400 to a Mac Mini. I went to look for an updated driver and it says that I need to have 1.44 firmware (I think). Some related question: How do I update the firmware? I'm a Mac newbie, so please don't leave out obvious steps. Do I install an RME program first? The driver?

Also, is the firmware different for mac or pc? Thanks. -- David

The firmware is identical, but the installer is of course different for Mac and Windows.
