Topic: Babyface suddenly loosing power? / Is it possible to extend the USB ?

Hi,

I recently bought a new Apple MacBook pro 13" i7 with 8GB ram and OSX Lion.
Since 1 week suddenly the Babyface stopped playing... Also the vu metering on the babyface stops.
When I disconnected the babyface and connected it again, it works again.

The babyface is connected to a dedicated usb port. The other usb port has a hub with some dongles, a virus ti snow and my keyboard and mouse.
Got OSX lion installed with the latest Babyface usb driver.

I've got this setup for 2 months now and this problem started this week, when I connected my liquidmix33 on FireWire...could that be the problem?
Also, can I extend the Power USB cable to connect it to my USB hub?

Does the problem go away when you disconnect the Liquidmix?
Have you tried external power?

The problem stays the same when I disconnect the liquidmix.
By "power" you mean the double usb cable? That's why I asked if I can extend this usb power cable with an usb extension cable. Can I?

I was referring to external mains power, but you can certainly try with an extnsion to the USB cable.

Hi,

There's no external mains power in the box? It seems like the Liquidmix is causing the problem. Going to test some more tonight.

I have done some tests today while playing a MP3 file. VLC keeps playing the same file (looped) for over 1hour without any problems.
I also started my sequencer, Cubase 6.5 with buffersize=1024. It starts playing my song but after a while the Babyface stops playing the audio signal....when I decrease the buffersize from 1024 back to 512, it starts playing again?!!?

Is it possible that the selected buffersize causes this problem?
