Topic: Any idea to connect a Griffin Powermate to Totalmix?

is a very nice tool to control e.g. a Cubase/Nundo/Sequoia mixer very fast and efficient.
Turn right = volume up
turn left = volume down
push and turn left = select channel <-
push and turn right = select channel ->

Any idea how to connect it to Totalmix? Works fine with many applications but no way to get it to work with Totalmix.

Hi Gerhard,

Yep, that would be a great idea! In fact I'm using the Powermate to control the volume of my Genelec 8240A speakers and it works superbly simple. If Genelec can make it work, why not RME:-)

No, thats MAC.

The Powermate works with all other software I use, but NOT with RME Mixer.

I really like to use it with my SSL/Soundscape Interfaces, Nuendo and the UAD-2 effects.
Itreally works as a charm. The right hand positions the mouse and the left hand controls everything where the mouse points to.
Its very convenient with all the knobs and controls in the different UAD-2 plugins. Much more sensitive and finer adjustment than with the mouse wheel. I would really like to have the same behavior with the RME Totalmix.
Right hand -> mouseover, left hand adjust parameter.

first of all, does TOTALMIX supports midi learn?

griffin says that you can configure which key on keyboard will be typed in logical procedure when you control in specific ways like turn, press... right?
it's very easy to convert keyboard input to midi signal with the MAX. and the MAX/MSP offers virtual midi ports. so there's no need to connect additional physical midi connection.

to generate midi signal with mouse control or keyboard typing is very easy. but i'd never tried to get signals from other HIDs to MAX directly. if that is possible, it will be simple to make logic and doesn't need to sacrifice any key on keyboard.

it WOULD be terrific, indeed...

and then we WOULD dream of midi feedback to the hardware controller...
