Topic: compatibility with new Mac

looking into a Mac upgrade.  Either a 2012 MBA or 2012 15" MBP.
Any reason to worry about compatibility with FF800 and Pro Tools 9 and 10?
Obviously the MBA is a connect challenge for lack of FW.  Is there any way around or is the only choice the MBP?
