Just bought mutiface II but my configuration does not work  :

Multiface II.
Firewire 800 400 cable :  MCL SAMAR MC932-9/6-2M Cable Firewire IEEE1394B, 9 / 6 male - 2m Réf : MC932-9/6-2M
Adapter Apple mac thunderbolt
OS : mac osx mountain lion 10.8.1

I download this driver :
Treiber für 10.5 32 Bit sowie 10.6 32 Bit/64 Bit und 10.7.Liesmich.txt beachten!

Version 3.04 vom 07.09.2012    hdspe_x86_304.zip
Mac OS X Intel Treiber für HDSPe MADI FX. Treiber für 10.6 32 Bit/64 Bit und aufwärts. Liesmich.txt beachten! Funktioniert mit keinem anderen RME-Interface!

Version 1.05 vom 07.09.2012    hdspe_fx_mac_105.zip
Mac OS X Intel Flash Update Tool für HDSPe System. Aktualisiert HDSPe MADI auf Firmware Version 29,HDSPe PCI und HDSPe ExpressCard auf 18, RayDATauf 11, AES auf 7, MADIface auf 11, AIO auf 10.

Seems the MF is connected to Firewire here - this will not work and could potentially damage the unit.

Why it is not possible with only firewire cable? It is not the same thing?

The MF is not a Firewire device. You need the HDSPe Expresscard. The one at Macway is different.
