Multiface 1 with HDSP PCI (old black version) driver installation problem in Win 7

Taken the card out of old XP system where it was working OK with drivers 'w2dsp283'

In new Win 7 PC the card appears in Device Manager under 'Other Devices' as:

(yellow warning) Multimedia Audio Controller
(yellow warning) Multimedia Audio Controller
(yellow warning) Unknown device

I choose 'Update Driver', 'Browse for driver...", and point it to the 'w2dsp283' folder, I get..

Windows was unable to install your Multimedia Audio Controller/Unknown device.

Can anyone help, please?

Re: Multiface 1 with HDSP PCI driver problems in Win 7

This driver is prehistoric... Not suitable for Win7.
Pleas try the latest one: https://archiv.rme-audio.de/download/hdsp_wdm_329.zip
You will likely need to update the card's firmware: https://archiv.rme-audio.de/download/fut_wdm_dsp.zip
Please read the readme file.

Re: Multiface 1 with HDSP PCI driver problems in Win 7

Thanks very much for your quick response. That seems to have worked.

Now "RME Hammerfall DSP" appears in Device manager under 'Sound, video & game controllers'.

I still have these appearing in Device Manager under 'Other Devices':

(yellow warning) Multimedia Audio Controller
(yellow warning) Unknown device

Should I be installing the driver for all these occurrences or should I disable or just ignore these?

Re: Multiface 1 with HDSP PCI driver problems in Win 7

These devices are not related to the RME...

Re: Multiface 1 with HDSP PCI driver problems in Win 7

Hi, I am facing the same problem, I purchased a second handed multiface 1 and cardbus and FWCB4.5, I install the cardbus to WIN7-NB and install the driver but didn't use cable connect to the multiface, and the installation is succeed , then I connect to multiface, try to open setting, it showed I need to update firmware,  so I did it, but the updating failed, and all my installations are gone.

The device manager shows "UNKNOW DEVICE",  I can't reinstall it, what should I do now?

My cardbus is totally damaged, I followed your company's instruction to do the flash update, but it's damaged now, does RME pay full responsbility on it?
