Topic: Totalmix FX / OSC

Hello,
i'm trying to control totalmix with OSC, and main things are working.
But it looks that i can't have the "Software playback" inputs to appear on the remote.
I'm using a fireface UFX and PureData as the remote.

I have a lot of channels hidden in the Midi/OSC config, so only 4 hardware input channels are active. Then only 4 software playback channels are activated on the midi/osc. So this should be 8 channels.
But in the Osc monitor i only get the 4 hardware ones, here's a extract of what the fireface is sending :

osc: /1/trackname2 Mic2
osc: /1/trackname3 BassDI
osc: /1/trackname4 Eleven Rack
osc: /1/trackname5 n.a.
osc: /1/trackname6 n.a.

osc: /1/trackname8 n.a.
....

is it normal that the 4 last tracks are N.A. and not taking the playback software inputs ?
i've tried with both FW and USB connectivity.

Yes this is normal. There is only one bus active at a time, so even disabling lots of input channels will not cause the playbacks to be adjustable togther with the inputs in one block. To change this would be too much work for us and only useful in very seldom cases.

ok i understand, so which OSC command is to be sent to switch to control the playback tracks ?
i've tried /0/busPlayback /1/busPlayback to switch the bus, but i still get the same answer for the UFX

Switching the bus is only available on page 1 and 2 (/1/busPlayback or /2/busPlayback). Additionally a float value of 1.0 has to be transmitted. See also here:

thanks, it is working with totalmix 0.986RC3 MAC OSX
as mentioned in the post need to force the use of float with a '1' value to switch the bus : sendtyped /1/busPlayback f 1

One more question :
Is the OSC protocol handled by the TotalmixFX software ? And then TotalmixFX is forwarding the commands to the UFX in a "RME" language ?

I ask that because, if that's it, then there's no way to use OSC in standalone mode. But if the UFX firmware is understanding the OSC protocol, then it would be super cool to have a connector to plug an OSC friendly remote.... and what about this Remote plug on the back ? what if we could plug a RME-OSC adapter ? would it make sense if technically possible ?
It would be way more functional than the standalone midi remote control (even if more computing resources are needed).

Correct, the UFX in stand-alone mode only understands Mackie protocol plus the other commands described in the manual.
