Topic: Fried FF800 Input

I'm pretty sure I accidentally fried the input on channel 10 of my Fireface 800 this morning. :-O

I was testing out a foot-pedal as an on/off for my talkback mic and didn't realize that the preamp was all the way up from a previous session AND phantom power was on.  That will teach me to test gear before coffee.  My question is...

Is the ONLY possible fix to send my interface off to a repair-shop, or is there some remote possibility that there's a hardware reset or software protocol that could reactivate that input.  As it stands now there's a loud crackle and static sound on 10 and the input shows signal while there is none.

This is my first post on the RME forums...  Thanks in advance for any feedback.

P.S.  I'm sure this has been suggested a million times before but it would be a HUGE improvement to have hot-keys assigned for the talkback and dim features.

Re: Fried FF800 Input

Hello,

I would suggest to send the unit in.
