Topic: RME Babyface Mic Input Occasionally Cuts Out

I've been having this problem for a while now. When recording with phantom power on the mic input, usually in the middle of a long recording session, the mic input will occasionally cut-out going completely silent by itself. Sometimes it corrects itself and sometimes I have to switch the phantom power off & on again to get going. How do I fix this?

The other issue I have with the Babyface. Is that if I'm running a heavy project in my DAW and the DSP meter goes red, the sound drivers become permanently distorted. And I have to change the sample rate on the "Fireface USB settings" app to clear the distortion. I'm running OS X 10.6.8 on a iMac. Is that the normal behaviour?

1. Use both USB connectors for more power. Or an external power supply.

2. This can happen if you have some other USB devices attached, or are not using the latest firmware and drivers.
