Topic: 9632 phones mute producing statics.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 US-EN with Aero Glass on
Driver Version: 3.31
Hardware Revision: 153
CPU: AMD Quad-core
Memory: Samsung DDR3 4x4GB

My stereo speaker system is connected to Analog 1 and 2 with totalmix working almost like a charm. But whenever I select the mute radio button on the Hammerfall Panel under "phones", the analog line-out produces a fairly loud sort of repetitive noise pattern and this can be easily worsen by simply moving the cursor around with my trackball or by dragging a window across the desktop. Basically anything that changes the content of the screen will add more noise to the aforementioned "repetitive noise pattern". Please help.

1. Ground loop.
2. Level mismatch. Speakers much too sensitive, output of the 9632 set too low.

Level mismatch will be unlikely, since the analog signal coming out this card is clean enough so that I can barely hear any noise coming out of my speaker even at very close proximity, if and only when that particular radio button is not selected. So it left me just one possible cause - ground loop. I'll look into it, Thank You MC. :-)
