Topic: hdsp aes 32 problem

Hi
I have my tascam dm 4800 as master connected to the aes 32 (slave).I noticed that at the input status the status keeps changing between lock and sync constantly at all aes entries (1-8). is that normal? the clock source is aes1 (i tried 8 but the problem persists).I Sometimes the mixer stops producing audio.Do you have a clue what the problem may be?
Thanks

Re: hdsp aes 32 problem

Sounds like the mixer is also trying to sync to the card, please double check the clock settings there. It has to be on internal clock.

Re: hdsp aes 32 problem

If the mixer is master then the card has to be set to slave/AutoSync/external input. If it is then you might use the wrong cable. The IF-AE/DM connection needs Tascam pinout AES D-sub cable, not Tascam TDIF, not Yamaha AES.

Re: hdsp aes 32 problem

Hi MC all cables are the right type.before summer everything was working fine.I stored the mixer and the pc in their boxes for the summer and after putting everything back this problem appeared.recently I had a varius in xin xp.should I reinstall the card drivers?or it doesn't have anything to with my problem?
thanks

Re: hdsp aes 32 problem

ps the clock source is set to aes 1."If the mixer is master then the card has to be set to slave/AutoSync/external input" is there another option for that?

Re: hdsp aes 32 problem

one more thing I have the main board located at the 6th pci slot and the extension above it on the 5th pci slot.Is that wrong? If I am to put the main on top I would have to twist the cable right?
