I know this is probably unlikely but would it theoretically be possible to combine the two lightning bolt ports on a new Macbook Pro retina so that they can provide enough power to bus power the UCX?  Perhaps through a Hardrive that has two FW 800 ports and one FW400 or a repeater hub?
