Topic: RME SPDIF direct monitoring in Nuendo

Hi all,

Having a problem. When I activate ASIO direct monitoring in Nuendo recording stereo SPDIF from a RME Multiface I get no sound. Works fine on tracks coming from a Rosetta via ADI8 DD AES. Any ideas?  I can see activity in the meters in the host and total mix but no live sound.  Monitor button is checked of course in Nuendo.

"No sound" means no sound where? What do you see in the HDSP mixer?

I get no sound as in no audio is heard coming out of Nuendo---->speakers.  I see meter activity in the Nuendo and HDSP mixers.  If I deactivate ASIO Direct Monitoring I get sound back.  I don't understand why this works perfect  coming from Rosetta via AES-->Multiface ADAT but not through the Multiface SPDIF.   Just to reiterate this is direct monitoring in Nuendo with the checkbox ticked in Device Setup/Audio.

I have the same problem with my multiface , after I updated the drivers direct monitoring does not send audio to the outputs though I see the meters working in cubase and the host is receiving and recording the sound.

Reset the list of Inputs / Outputs under Configure Devices, VST Audiosystem. Check the VST connections (F4) for SPDIF (or any other channels). Then make sure ADM is activated in Nuendo and in TotalMix

ADM works with our WDM drivers and all devices correctly, except when not everything is set as it should be.

I found out that the problem was that I was using two cards together and I was monitoring the second device. By the way , how can I monitor simultaneous inputs from two multifaces or digifaces to the same pair of outputs of the first or second device?
