Topic: FF400 on FW 800 port

hello
im using FF400 on pc and thinking on baying a mac but all the new mac's have a FW 800 port i know there is an adaptor for it but whold it work??
and if yes what risks am i taking here?

You just need a 9-pin (FW800) to 6-pin (FW400) cable. No risk at all.

but today i went to the i store with the interface and it didnt worked the com dident recognized the divice and the ff was turning on and off........
what should be the problem
