Topic: Gain control of Fireface UCX analogue inputs via a hardware controller

Dear readers,

I very very often need to adjust the analogue input gain of the inputs 1 and 2 and sometimes also 3-4 of my Fireface UCX in TotalMix because I am digitizing a huge archive of undocumented reel tapes. But adjusting the analogue input gain in TotalMix by mouse movements on the screen is absolutely a pain. There has to be a much better way.

Can anyone recommend some external hardware controller, including a document how to set it up and use it, for adjusting the gain of at least two Firefax UCX analogue input channels independently and at the same time via an external controller?

Besides, the Fireface UCX does sound good and runs quite solidly. I have some suggestions concerning the German user manual, but technically the Fireface UCX has been very well made by RME.

Thanks a lot and "viva la musica",

If you have an iPad you could use OSC to remote control TM FX, then make yourself a template with a big fader just for the gain settings. But this is the only way as input gain can not be controlled differently.
