Topic: Multiface II/Pro Tools 10 Hardware insert Signal returns ahead??

Hi,

I'm using my Multiface II via expresscard 34 connection to connect to my Lunchbox modules so I can use them as inserts in my PT session.
When I measure the roundtrip for latency, the signal I record through the chain returns before the original..by 0.5ms, enough to be a real phase problem.
Anybody experienced this or have a fix?

Re: Multiface II/Pro Tools 10 Hardware insert Signal returns ahead??

This is due to the fact that the MF-II has faster AD/DA converters than the MF-I, but the RME Multiface ASIO driver reports the original MF-I's AD/DA offsets to your host.  This is a known issue which RME would have to address at the driver level (provide a way to select MF-I or MF-II in the driver).  I believe this should be addressed since the current driver is theoretically incorrect for the "current hardware" MF-II that's still in production (AFAIK)...

FWIW - You'll also have similar issues if you use the MF's ADAT ports with an ADAT AD/DA Converter that is faster than the MF's conversion - but this is to be expected due to ASIO limitations...
