Topic: Multiface 1 and Gigabyte P67 motherboard

Hi,

I would like to use my trusted old Multiface I on a new Gigabyte P67A-UD3-B3 motherboard

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/produc … id=3765#ov

I only have a Cardbus interface for the MF, so I need to choose whether to get a used PCI board off Ebay, or get a new PCIe interface.

Anyone using a PCI adapter with this motherboard successfully? (PCI slots are not native, they use a PCIe to PCI bridge.)
Otherwise, is there anyone using the PCIe adapter? Are there any specific system tweaks?

I would be grateful to hear some stories before either gambling on a PCI card, or getting a new PCIe - in which case I might consider selling it and switching to a new soundcard altogether.

Thanks a lot!

/Mario

I would like to add that I have read a few posts about this, reporting both success (http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=14961) and horror stories (http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=12432) which confused me even more.

I'm using this exact board with a multiface I and the PCI card. My RME gear has continued its 13 year and half a dozen boards record of working perfectly! I have an I5 2500K processor and 4 gigs of ram on Win home pro 32 bit.

I use mostly Nuendo 4 and cubase 6.

It also games really well!!! :-)

Hope this helps,

Thanks isaac!

If it might be useful to someone, I would also like to mention that I tried PCI to Cardbus adapters, both with TI chipset and ESE, without success. I am running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
The TI one is not recognized correctly, even before any card is inserted. The ESE does not even get to the BIOS boot screen, and apparently corrupts the BIOS itself so that it needs to perform automatic recovery!

Good for me to know! I also have the card bus and express 34 cards! :-)
