Topic: XP freezes when I power on Fireface UC

Hello all,

When I power on my Fireface UC, Windows XP freezes (everything, mouse, keyboard) and when I turn off the Fireface, everything is normal again. This means I cannot use or access my Fireface at all. When I start up the computer with the Fireface connected, the booting stops at a black screen, and only when I turn off the Fireface, Windows continues the booting and finally shows my desktop.

The problem seems to have started when I used the Windows Flash Update Tool to update to version 117. I have tried several times to push and hold the front knob during power-on, but that does not make any difference. Maybe that even caused the problem.

Some details:
Windows XP SP3
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ processor
I installed the most recent driver (version 1.030)

UC in PC mode or Apple (AP) mode?

Dear Matthias,

My Fireface is working again! As I currently don't have the manual at hand, I tried to go into the menu of the device itself, and I got it working. There was a parameter saying 'on'/'off' in the display, and that seemed to have done the trick. Later I could see 'PC' in the display, which must be correct, of course.
