Topic: FF UC: Minor issue with optical & MIDI ports

Hello people,

proud owner of a Fireface UC, which came in the post earlier today. Everything running smoothly so far, except for two things:

1) When I plugged the optical cable (very carefully) in one of the two ports, the small plastic cover came off and got trapped inside the card. Any advise on that? Seeing as it's plastic, I might as well leave it. But I'm also worried whether there's any metal bits that came off with it as well..
2) It looks like the MIDI breakout cable doesn't completely fit in the MIDI port. I didn't want to use much force upon plugging it in. MIDI communications work just fine, but I was wondering whether the cable will stay put. Have any other users had the same 'issue'?

Other than that, no problems and really really pleased with the thing.

Any thoughts/suggestions more than welcome and thank you in advance.

1) Excactly the same happend to me a week ago to my only 2 month old Fireface UCX. I called Thomann and send it back for repair. I thought maybe I sell the interface in one or two years and then a missing ADAT cover could lead to a lower price. The support of Thomann told me it take up to 21 days until I get it back. Great hmm

2) As far as I know it's normal that the breakout cable does not completely fit in. As long as MIDI works I don't care much about it.
