Topic: strange midi problem rme fireface ufx with windows 7 64 bits

HI,

I have a problem since i installed "vsthost" on my computer. I can get a midi signal into my computer when i use vsthost or kontakt 5 as a standalone but i can't use the midi in or out with my other apps (PT 10, Sibelius, Cakewalk) even if i see the midi ports available in there. It seems that some program is taking controll over the midi device, even if that program is not running. When i try with Sybellius, i get the message: "The MIDI subsystem returned an error. Perhaps another MIDI app is running. The error is: Error :1"

What's weird is that i can use midi with my computer only with kontakt (standalone mode) and vsthost  (also standalone). I tried to do a system restore with no success.

Anyway to restore that "midi subsystem"?

Can anyone help??

You could try to uninstall the RME drivers and then do a reinstallation.

I dit that too... with no luck.

So which RME interface and driver version are you using then? ;-)

Re: strange midi problem rme fireface ufx with windows 7 64 bits

Fireface UFX, latest drivers 1.028 - hardware revision 352

I really think it has to do with windows or the registry.

I agree. Still the latest driver is 1.030.
