Topic: Multiface 2 weird sound with Pro Tools

Hi,

I tried changing buffer size / sample rate but the problem remains.

Whilst my HDSPe AES works perfectly with Pro Tools, my Multiface 1+2 (via Cardbus) just produces a weirdly decimated grainy bell type version of the sound it is supposed to put out.

I am using Windows 8 64-bit, Pro Tools 10.3.4 HD Native.

What am I doing incorrectly ?

Driver /firmware are most recent versions.

'Optimize multi-client mixing' switched off

Windows standard sound card is set to internal sound card (not Multiface).

Please help me with this.

Thanks

Re: Multiface 2 weird sound with Pro Tools

Not a known issue, please try to provide a sample...
Are you using the Cardbus with some kind of adapter? Does it work with other ASIO software?

Re: Multiface 2 weird sound with Pro Tools

Thank you. Here is a sample, recorded from Multiface 2 SPDIF out into my HDSPe AES, all sound output from Pro Tools, regardless of sample rate/ buffersize and regardless of internal source (VI, audio etc) bears this kind of sound quality: https://www.hidrive.strato.com/lnk/PalsMLJN

No, I am not using an adapter. It is the PCMCIA card with the flat connector into Lenovo Thinkpad T61, same behaviour also on my Thinkpad T400.

The HDSPe AES / Turbobox Mini works fine when used as the sound card for Pro Tools.

Internal on-board laptop sound card / ASIO4ALL works fine too.

Hi, did you have a chance to listen to the file ?

Thank you
